Tesla service cost
Published by the Serviced247 editorial teamLast reviewed 24 October 2026
There is no single price for a Tesla service. The cost depends on which service type is due, the engine, the oil specification, the parts used and whether the work is done by a franchised dealer or an independent specialist.
What drives Tesla maintenance cost
- Which items are due - a cabin filter and a brake fluid check are inexpensive; tyres and a desiccant bag are not
- Tyres - the single biggest recurring cost for most Tesla owners, and EV-rated tyres are dearer
- Model and wheel size - larger wheels mean more expensive tyres and, on some cars, firmer ride wear
- Whether work is done by Tesla or by an independent garage capable of that specific job
- Bodywork and glass, which are separate from maintenance and often the largest unplanned costs
How it compares with a petrol or diesel service
There is no direct like-for-like comparison, because a Tesla has no annual service to price. Comparing a yearly ICE service bill against a Tesla's maintenance spend means totalling filters, brake fluid, tyres and any condition-based work across the same period.
Price ranges on this page are Serviced247 editorial estimates of typical UK independent-garage pricing. They are not quotes, no garage is bound by them, and they vary by vehicle, parts and location. See our methodology for how we produce them.
When an independent garage can help
- MOT testing - any DVSA-authorised station can test a Tesla
- Tyres, wheel alignment and balancing
- Brake pads, discs and caliper servicing, where the garage is equipped for the vehicle's weight and systems
- Suspension and 12V battery work
- High-voltage battery, drive unit and vehicle-computer work generally requires Tesla or a properly equipped and qualified EV specialist
Serviced247 does not hold verified records of which garages have Tesla or EV capability. Do not assume a general garage can work on a high-voltage system.
How we handle price information
Serviced247 does not hold dealer or garage price lists, service-plan pricing, or manufacturer pricing. Anything we publish about cost is an editorial explanation of the factors involved, not a quote and not a manufacturer figure.
