Audi servicing

Audi servicing runs on one of two regimes: a fixed schedule for cars used for short journeys and heavy stop-start driving, or a flexible (longlife) schedule for higher-mileage cars driven mainly on longer runs.

Which regime your car is set to changes both the interval and the oil specification, so it is the first thing to establish before comparing quotes.

Fixed and flexible schedules

  • Fixed (time and distance) regime - suits lower-mileage cars and short journeys; shorter, predictable intervals.
  • Flexible / longlife regime - suits higher-mileage cars doing longer runs; the car extends the interval based on driving conditions and requires a specific longlife oil.
  • Oil change service - the lighter service: engine oil and filter plus checks.
  • Inspection service - the broader service: additional filters and a longer inspection list.

Using the wrong oil specification on a flexible schedule can cause problems. Confirm the garage is using oil to the correct Audi specification for your engine.

Independent specialist or franchised dealer?

Both are legitimate options once the car is outside its warranty period, and many owners move to an independent specialist as the car ages. An independent that specialises in the marque will normally have the diagnostic software, the service literature and the model-specific experience that a general garage may not.

If your car is still under a manufacturer warranty or on a service plan, check the terms of that agreement before booking anywhere: the requirements around schedules, parts and record-keeping are set by the agreement, not by us.

  • Ask which diagnostic equipment and software the garage uses for the marque
  • Ask whether the service will be recorded in the service book or a digital service record, and what evidence you will receive
  • Ask what parts and oil specification are used, and whether they meet the manufacturer specification
  • Keep every invoice - documented history matters at resale

Serviced247 does not hold verified records of which garages specialise in Audi or hold Audi diagnostic access. Confirm directly with the garage.

Common Audi models owners ask about

Service requirements differ by engine and model year rather than by badge alone. The models below are the ones UK owners most often search about; the schedule for your specific car is the one in its handbook or service indicator.

  • A1 and A3
  • A4 and A5
  • Q2, Q3 and Q5
  • Q7 and larger SUVs
  • TT and S/RS models - specialist parts and oils raise costs
  • e-tron models - EV schedules with high-voltage checks

Before you book

  • Confirm which service type is actually due - not just the tier a garage offers
  • Get the quote itemised, including oil specification and parts
  • Agree an authorisation limit for any extra work
  • Check the MOT due date and consider combining the two visits
